Exploring the World beneath our feet
The Southern part of the Brecon Beacons National Park in WALES is riddled with caves, caverns, pot holes and passages, including the biggest cave entrance in South Wales and the largest cave passage in the United Kingdom. With the guidance of Black Mountain Activities experienced cave leaders and equipped with a helmet, head lamp and protective oversuit, you will explore the beauty of the subterranean world that was formed over three hundred million years ago.

With lots of great caves in the park, we have the flexibility to choose a cave system that will suit individual group needs. The most popular cave used is Porth Yr Ogof - boasting fifteen entrances and exits including the biggest in South Wales. Your cave leader will guide you through the easy but extensive underground system, exploring the many passages along the way, building interest and confidence and an appetite.

Happy caver
out side the cave
After a brief return to the surface, for a spot of lunch to top up your energy levels you will be ready to return to the subterranean world. Your guide will introduce you to many of the sporting features, with great names like The Worm Hole, Death Ledge, The Rat Trap, The Cork Screw and not forgetting the "Letter Box". Don't be put off by the name, if you won't fit through the letter box, there is always "parcel post! ". As with all great BMA adventures, the day would not be the same without a visit to the Washing Machine! "Yes, it means you are going to get wet".

We'll let your imagination do the rest from here! The day guarantees to provide you with great long term memories.
