High%20Level%20All%20Aboard.jpgSomething for everyone...

Since the high level ropes course was built in 2001it has continued to provide a successful and exciting activity with groups of all ages.

The extensive and versatile facility in Black Mountain Activities grounds combined with our expert staff will engage everyone. Our philosophy is one of "Challenge by Choice", where participants make their own choices as to the level of challenge they wish to undertake on the day and are given high levels of support and encouragement. This may range from active roles and functions, which do not require them to leave ground level to undertaking the most demanding of challenges.

The course includes an 90 metre zip wire, "the Big Zipper"...read all about the course below:

The High Level Ropes course comprises 12 Elements in 6 Zones

Zone one and four are designed specifically for team development. Participants are removed from their normal comfort zone and explore their own boundaries. Trust, communication, confidence and team work all play a major part, as well as participants setting their own goals.

Zone two and three are designed to challenge you as a individual. Beginning with the lower level elements you begin to increase in confidence and learn to trust your self and your team mates.

Zone five and six give you the opportunity to try your hand at climbing and abseiling on our 35 foot tower.

By the end of the day we aim to have helped you to increase and develop your self confidence, have a better understanding of your colleagues' strengths and weaknesses, as well as challenging yourself and of course, having a good fun day.

Zone One

Ladder.jpgJacobs Ladder

Jacobs ladder A team challenge! Simply climb the ladder to the top; it will take all their members of your team to reach the top, testing teamwork, trust and communication to the full.

Zone Two

High%20Level%20Log%202.jpgIndian Rope Bridge,

Postmans Walk &

Balance Log

Indian Rope Bridge:- A ladder with a difference. Laid horizontally makes climbing a ladder a doddle! No hands and only 10 feet off the ground!

Postmans Walk: - A very popular task. Two ropes -one for your hands and one for your feet. Balance would help!

Balance Log: - This will test your head for heights and get the adrenaline flowing as you walk along the log 32 feet above the ground (10 metres- as High as the top of the roof on your house)

Zone 3

Cross%20over.jpgRope Crawl,Criss Cross & Grapevine.

The rope crawl:- Is one of the all time classics. A 2" diameter rope, strung between two posts - to cross it you can either crawl on your stomach, commando style or hang up side down and pull your self along - "a bit tiring on the arms!"

Criss Cross:- Two ropes criss crossing at the centre. A challenge to test your agility and hand/eye co-ordination.

Grapevine:- If height's are not a problem then this is for you! Trying to hold on to those vines while you cross the divide is not as easy as you think! (Especially when you are 32 feet in the air!)

Zone 4

Trapeze (Leap of Faith) & High Level All Aboard

Trap%20(below).jpgTrapeze:- Jumping for a trapeze bar sounds easy... not if you are 32 feet (10m) off the ground and trying to balance on top of a wobbly pole! This activity will push you beyond your comfort zone to break through fear and to build a higher self-esteem. You set the distance you want to jump before launching yourself across the void to grasp hold of the trapeze bar. You will be pleased to know that you will be safely attached to a harness, dynamic climbing rope and a good belay team. In terms of adrenaline, motivation and sheer personal confidence, this element stands as the 'ultimate challenge' in the memories of most participants.

All%20Abord.jpg

High Level All Aboard:-Team work and trust is high on the agenda here. Get at least 4 people to the top of the pole to stand on a 12" square platform where space is limited. This will rely on the trust of all the team, as one by one each person arrives at the top. The task is not over once you have reached the top though...next you will need to link arms and lean back with just your toes on the edge of the platform!

Zone 5 and 6 - The Tower

The Tower

provides us with a further three challenges

Abseil%202%20people.jpg

Abseil.jpgClimbing:- Two sides of the tower have been especially designed to accommodate a wide range of climbing routes that will test your climbing skills. Trust and team work are essential as you climb higher up the wall.

Abseiling:- The other two sides provide us with two great abseiling walls. One has a nice gentle slop to start you off, and the other has a vertical take off! After overcoming your knee shaking first abseil, you will be running back to the top for more!

Zip Wire:- The day would not be complete without a ride on our aerial runway! A nerve shaking, heart racing, adrenaline pumping, 80 metre zip wire -The ultimate end to a fantastic day!!
