River
Wye Guided Canoe Expeditions. The
canoe expeditions will allow you to discover
the art of open canoeing using traditional canoe skills
such as sailing, poling and lining.
Each
year during the Summer we run a fully guided open
canoe expeditions, for families, small group and
couples. The trip starts at Glasbury on Wye and
descends over five days to the Town of Monmouth. Black
Mountain Activities qualified canoe coaches are
close at hand to develop canoe skills. Should you choose
to sleep out under the stars one night, the coaches
can instruct on canoe bivi construction. Coaches will
also instruct on improvised sailing, and classic skills
beyond the paddle. WCA/BCU Star Awards can be taken
during the trip.
Family and friends are welcome to meet up at the campsites
each day.
Expedition fees included:- Instruction, equipment, meals
from lunch Monday to lunch Friday, camp fees transport
back to centre.

Day
one Glasbury on Wye to Whitney. Ten mile - five/six
hours.
Day
two Whitney to Preston on Wye. Twelve mile -
five/six hour trip.
Day
three. Preston on Wye to Mordiford. Sixteen miles
- six/seven hours
Day
four. Mordiford to Horwithy Twelve miles - five/six
hours.
Day
five. Horwithy to Ross on Wye. Ten miles - Four
- five hours. Return to Black Mountain Activities.
