| Why
Black Mountain Activities ? |
| Here
are 5 good reasons... |
| |
|
| 1.
REPUTATION |
| BMA
was established in 1992 by Carl and Hugh Durham
and has grown in both size and reputation as a provider
of high quality Outdoor Pursuits for individuals, families,
social groups, businesses, school's, colleges and youth
groups. |
 |
| Over
recent years we have had the pleasure of working along
side, our sister company
Adventure Training,
having hands on involvement in the training for a variety
of prestigious companies both large and small. |
| |
| 2.
SAFETY |
BMA
understand the concerns of customers over the perceived
dangers of Outdoor Pursuits. Black Mountain Activities
safety record is second to none.
We
were among the first centres in Wales to be accredited
by the Welsh
Tourist Board,
who introduced a strict accreditation scheme, which inspects
operating procedures, risk assessments, staff qualifications
and experiences on an annual basis.
|
 |
| With
the introduction of the Young Persons Safety Act 1995,
even greater safe regulations were imposed on centres
dealing with children under the age of eighteen. These
centres are now required by law to be licensed by the
Adventure Activity Licensing Authority - AALA.
BMA is proud to be a fully licensed and accredited centre,
using these awards as a minimum standard of excellence
to all our customers. |
| |
| 3.
FLEXIBLE PROGRAMMES |
| BMA
offers a wide range of exciting activities from a half
day taster to five day multi activity holidays, giving
you the opportunity to sample a variety of activities.
For people who would like to take their skills further
we run two to five day improver courses. |
| |
| 4.
ACCOMMODATION |
| BMA
is a non-residential centre, allowing us to keep our costs
competitive. Over the years we have built a good list
of local accommodation providers who all offer a great
service and have come to know the needs of our customers.
Whether you are looking for a cosy farmhouse bed and breakfast,
a relaxing self catering cottage with open fires, lively
family run hotels, large three and four star conference
hotels, to camp sites and bunk houses for groups of eighty
plus. We are able to offer them all with confidence. Have
a look at our current listings |
| |
| 5.
LOCATION |
| BMA
is situated in the village of Three Cocks, 8 miles East
of Brecon, 6 miles West of Hay on Wye, placing us on the
edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and very near
the banks of the River Wye. With over five hundred square
miles of natural beauty including limestone outcrops and
gorges to "Play in" . BMA is nearer than
you think, over 5000 people travelled from London and
the Home Counties last year, to enjoy the activities offered
by BMA. |
