CAVING
Cave adventure days in the Brecon Beacons, South Wales.
Our cave adventure days take place in the Brecon Beacons National Park which is riddled with caverns, pot holes and passages, awarding us the flexibility to choose a cave system to suit the experience level of each group. The most popular cave system used is Porth-yr-Ogof, which not only is a fantastic introductory cave, but also boasts fifteen entrances including the biggest cave entrance in South Wales.
For your cave adventure you will be equipped with a cave-suit, helmet and the all important head lamp. After a short introduction your cave leader will guide you through the easy but extensive underground system, where you will explore the beauty of the subterranean world formed over three millions years ago! And to make it a little more exciting, you will also be introduced to some of sporting features and challenges the cave has to offer before being put through the infamous ‘Washing Machine’ to finish off! Yes you will get wet, It’s a must!
Some of the exciting features…
The Worm Hole
Death Ledge
The Rat Trap
The Cork Screw
The Letter Box
Washing Machine
And many more to discover!
Caving does involve manoeuvering through some small spaces and can be strenuous. You should be physically fit to take part in this activity! Some parts of the cave may be damp and or wet.
